Furthermore, we are member of the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) and have been actively involved in the development and specification of multiple widely accepted industry-standard benchmarks. To encourage exchange among representatives from academia, industry and research institutes we co-founded the SPEC Research Group - a new group within SPEC established to serve as a platform for collaborative research efforts in the area of quantitative system evaluation and analysis, fostering the interaction between industry and academia in the field.
As part of our involvement in SPEC, we established the SPEC International Performance Evaluation Workshop (SIPEW) and co-founded the Joint ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance Engineering (www.icpe-conference.org). The conference provides a forum for sharing ideas and experiences between industry and academia in the field of performance engineering of software and systems, including performance measurement, modeling, benchmark design, and run-time performance management.
