IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award

Nikolas Herbst from the Descartes Research Group at SDQ and FZI receives an IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award for the academic year 2014-2015.

Nikolas’ research focuses on methods, models and algorithms for load forecasting at run-time as well as on benchmarking of resource elasticity.


The IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Awards Program is an intensely competitive worldwide program, which honors exceptional Ph.D. students who have an interest in solving problems that are important to IBM and fundamental to innovation in many academic disciplines and areas of study.


In 2014, below 18% out of 350 nominated Ph.D. students worldwide receive the IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award.
